ICO:
Windows icon files.
Icon:
A small graphic symbol or picture on a computer screen that represents a file, folder, disk, or command.
ICC (International Color Consortium):
Founded in 1993 by 8 industry vendors for creating, promoting and encouraging the standardization and evolution of an open and accessible color management system for hardware and software.
Image:
In digital imaging,a visual representation of graphics data shown on the display surface of an output device or a single frame from a video.
Image Data:
A term used loosely to refer to bitmap data.
Image Editor:
A programthat enables you to create and edit images. ACD FotoCanvas is an example of an easy-to-use image editor. ACDSee digital camera software also includes some image editing functions.
Image Height:
The vertical size of an image.
Image Length:
The horizontal size of an image.
Image Pac:
A proprietary file format designed for storing print quality images on CD. It is now used in numerous pre-press, scientific and commercial applications.
Image Processing:
Capturing and manipulating images in order to enhance or extract information. ACDSee picture viewer comes with a host of image processing functions.
Image Resolution:
Refers to the quality of the details and colors in an image. It is also used to describe the quality of monitors and printer output.
Image Viewer:
A program that displays images. For example, ACDSee image viewer.
Import:
The process of bringing data into a document from another computer, program, type of file format, or device.
Ink-Jet Printer:
An inexpensive alternative to a laser printer, an ink-jet printer forms text and images out of dots created by jets of ink. Color ink-jets support many different media sizes and output resolutions.
Internet:
The interconnection of computers and computer servers through phone and cable lines enabling computers to share information and images.
Interpolation:
The addition of pixels between pairs of others. Usually made necessary when enlarging an image.
Intraframe Encoding:
The creation of encoded data from a single image frame. JPEG encoding is an intraframe encoding method.
IVUE:
A file format associated with FITS technology that enables images to be opened and displayed in seconds by showing only as much data on the screen as is implied by the screen size and zoom factor.
